The Book of Life Candle Co. (BOLC) was founded by Dr. Toriana Smith. An Atlanta native and mom of three, Dr. Smith has always had a penchant for things that smell good. Perfumes, candles, room sprays, etc.…, she would often find herself spending money to satisfy her olfactory desires. However, after filing for a divorce in 2018, she was no longer afforded such luxuries as her household income had reduced and her children’s needs came first.

In 2020, Dr. Smith decided to research candle making. Perhaps she could start making her own candles.  A quick learner, she began studying business and the art of candle making. With God’s favor and grace, she launched The Book of Life Candle Co. in March of 2021.

Our mission and vision

Founded in Psalms 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path,” our mission is to share the Word of God through faith-inspired candles that are poured into a one-of-a-kind handmade concrete vessel, reminding us that just as no two vessels are the same, every soul is uniquely and purposefully created.

Our vision is to be a beacon of light in the marketplace, offering candles that fill spaces with fragrance while also inspiring spiritual reflection, meaningful conversations, and lasting connections.

Our message to you

Whether you struggle daily on your walk with Christ, or perhaps you do not know Him at all, we strive to share His love with you because purchasing with us is not just a transaction, it's an experience. We love you, we appreciate you, and we look forward to experiencing life with you. Be sure to tag us in your social media posts (@thebookoflifecandleco) and leave us a Google review.
